What UTN is

UTN is a network your app calls over HTTPS. You do not install a node. You send JSON-RPC to https://rpc.utn.network, or you open UTN Wallet and confirm with a passkey.

The same app can run on testnet and on mainnet. Only the RPC URL and the coin name change.

RPChttps://rpc.utn.networkA different URL, when it is published

A read (eth_call, eth_getBalance, eth_chainId) does not spend T-RAIN. A transaction does. The fee is gas, and gas is the only network revenue. See Gas and fees.

What you use it for

  • A passkey account in UTN Wallet. The passkey stays on the device. See Accounts.
  • An organization (UMBRO-ORG): a contract with a name, admins, and members. See Organizations.
  • UTN Scan at https://explorer.utn.network/ to read blocks, transactions, and contracts.
  • Your own contract, deployed with Remix, Foundry, or Hardhat.

Check that you reached this network

bash
curl -s https://rpc.utn.network \
  -H 'content-type: application/json' \
  -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"eth_chainId","params":[]}'

The result field is 0x135288b. That is chain id 20261003. A different value means the response is not from this network.
